2017: Motivation for the New Year & New Opportunities

Posted by Patti Overton on Dec 7, 2016 12:00:00 PM

Need a little motivation or inspiration for the New Year? A New Year can often mean new beginnings, an opportunity to set new goals or make changes in our personal and/or professional lives. Whether you call them resolutions, goals, life changes or any combination encompassing the want to turn over a new leaf, we all have different motivators.

Many of us turn to inspirational quotes as a daily motivator to get in the right mindset. In talking with a few of ISAE’s very own association executives we can gleam into what encourages and motivates them to strive for improvement, change, greatness and achievement of goals. Just maybe one of the following quotes will provide the right motivation and encouragement for you in 2017!

Jaime Smith, CMP, National Business Development at Bartha
“Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.” —Vince Lombardi

Travis Skodack, Coastal Area Director at Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity
“Whatever you are, be a good one.” —Abraham Lincoln
“The only way to get out of mediocrity is to shoot for excellence.” —Eric Thomas

Stephen Lee, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity
“If you’re a creative person, you should just go about your business, do your work and not care about how it’s received.” —Shel Silverstein

Rachel Daeger, CAE, Associate Director at Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior
“I hope you will have a wonderful year, that you’ll dream dangerously and outrageously, that you’ll make something that didn’t exist before you made it, that you will be loved and that you will be liked, and that you will have people to love and to like in return. And, most importantly (because I think there should be more kindness and more wisdom in the world right now), that you will, when you need to be, be wise, and that you will always be kind.”—Neil Gaiman
